Considering the hallowed influence of music on old and young; it's aid in religious services;
the many tokens of Divine approbation for it's cultivation found in the sacred scriptures;
the social enjoyment it impacts; the moral influence it exerts; we are inclined to form an association;
and that we may better accomplish our design; do agree to be governed by the following -
- Article 1th   The chorister or in his absence the next shall call
the meeting to order and preside at the rehearsal according the Constitution.
- Art 2th   At the first signal for order the members shall immediately get their places, with as little confusion and
noise as possible.
- Art 3th   The directions of the conductor shall be strictly complied with during the time of rehearsal and public exercise.
- Art 4th   Each member of the society shall be entitled to a ticket of admission (who has paid the amount required by the constitution)
to any public performance of the society, and each performing members shall be entitled to two tickets of admission.
- Art 5th   Every member shall be puntual at all the meetings for rehearsals at the hour of appoinments or be deemed guilty of a violation
of our word and honor, unless circumstances that are beyond our control actually forbid.
- Art 6th   Any performing members who shall absent themselves from any public performances or from two regular meetings for rehearsals
without a reasonable excuse shall forfeit their memberships and its priveledges. The society may vote to restore such members.
- Art 7th   The instrumental performers shall avoid all unnecessary preluding and tuning especially at public rehearsals or concerts.
- Art 8th   Every member shall studiously avoid all unneecessay turning or shuffling the leaves of their books.
- Art 9th   No person shall enter or leave the room during the performance of a piece of music.
- Art 10th   It shall be the duty of the board and of each member
belonging of this society to contribute, by their influence and example to sustain the
singing of songs of Praire in all congregations in the place in a proper and becomming manner.
- Art 11th   There by Laws may be altered, erased, or added to by a vote of a majority of members present at any regular meeting.

- Saturday Evening Feb. 1th 1857
Meeting orgainized by calling the Rev. Thomas Graham to the chair and appointing Charles Hathaway Secretary Pro Term and proceded to elected officers for the ensuing
year ending the first Monday in September. The following officers were elected viva voce. President, Charles Hathaway; Vice President, G.S. Rice; Secretary, M.B. Keyes;
Treasurer, Thomas J. Carlin; also elected by ballot the following officers; First Chorister, Silas A. Davis; Second Ch., Josiah Fifield; Third Ch., Alfred Crittenden.
The treasurer was authorized to appropraite funds to purchase a book and tickets; the first Chorister called the members to order and sung three or four tunes; and then

Motion made by E.V. Fenton and carried that the secretary shall call the roll at the commencement of every meeting.

Meeting to call to order by the president, roll called, few members absent. Mr. Sage tried to make out that Mr. Hathaway was not elected legally to the office of president
saying that it was understood by the majority of the members that Elder Graham was elected president. Mr. Hathaway tendered his resignation with a few remarks, it was put to vote
whether or not it was decided with a large majority that he should keep his office, order restored, proceeded to sing harmonials, then adjorned until the next Tuesday evening.

Meeting orgainized roll called and the following members were absent - P. Sage, Thomas Graham, J.W. Wetherby, J.G. Whitney, O. Phillips, J. Fifield, A. Schultz, A.G. Kilborn,
P. Wheeler, N. Bartlett, G. Smith, W. Orderway, Silas Huyler, M. Lillie, Chas. Jordan and a number of ladies were absent who it was taken for granted had good excuses. The
cry of fire was heard and the meeting broke up in a hurry.

Meeting called to order by the president. Motion made by Elder Thomas Graham that a committee of seven be appointed to select about forty members of the association
to train for a concert to be given in public. The committee to consist of four males and three female members. Sugested that the president appoint said committee.
The following men appointed said committee - Thomas Graham, H.D. Brown, Thomas J. Carlin, Charles Hathaway, Rozette Carter, Mrs. D.C. Allen, and Caroline Krieh.
The committee reported and appointed next Sturday evening to meet at Mr. Hathaway School Room. Meeting adjourned until next Tuesday evening.

Meeting met as usual, called to order by the first chorister sung until usual hour of closing. The Vice President took the chair, the President being absent, and
prceeded to business. Am motion was made by one of the members and learned that Article 7th of the Constitution should be amended so as to give the association
the priveledge of adjourning the regular time of meeting to any time the association should think proper which was carried by a good majority.
It was then moved that the association should meet once a month during the summer which was carried, moved that the association should meet on the first Tuesday of every month.
Adjourned until the first Tuesday of June.
